Do your best to behave normally, even if normal is the last way you feel. Go to work, go to classes, see your friends. Do the things you would normally do. Act like you feel fine and all is well with the world.

If that seems impossible to do then pretend you feel fine. Believe it or not if you pretend to feel ok you'll start to feel better.

Get your emotions reined in first. Then start developing a plan to get your ex back. It can be done so be patient.
