Are You A Business Owner Without A Mentor?

Many business owners struggle and make costly mistakes which cause frustration and a decrease of passion for their business.

The old way of learning by trial and error is always an option if you have stubborn determination, endless time and lots of money to finance your mistakes! As the majority of businesses fail, this is a testament to the fact that this system doesn't work effectively. It makes sense that if most people fail and you do what most people are doing, then you are heading for failure also.

Perhaps you should ask yourself whether you really need to keep on making all these mistakes, or whether it might not be smarter to learn from successful people who have done it before. Perhaps it would be best to find a suitable mentor.

When selecting a business-mentor, one should consider if the mentor has experience in your chosen field. Is he/she experienced in the mentoring process? Is there a visible track-record?

It's also important to consider how the mentoring process works. Is there an easy way to ask questions and to discuss potential solutions to problems?

Only when you isolate what you want and why you want it can you confidently move forward. The more you know what you want, the easier it is to achieve it.

Statistics show that over 90% of new businesses fail in the first 5 years. In the end, the cost of having a business mentor is likely to be significantly less than that of the normal "crash and burn" business approach. In fact, the way I see it there is not cost at all - it is an investment in your success.

While many business owners attend business seminars and online membership programs, it is much quicker to learn when you can spend personal one on one time with your mentor and address your concerns specifically. In life we often learn by trial and error, it can save you years and lots of grey hair when you quit doing things the hard way and gather the wisdom and business techniques from others who are truly successful.
