If you have been looking for Guitar Tabs Universe you have probably figured out that the site is no longer working. The culmination was a direct result from the actions of MPA (The Association of Music Publishers) including the NMPA as well (N.M.P.A.) decided that the copyright the writers owned was being infringed upon by the sharing of guitar tabs, creators and those that performed the aforementioned songs.

Guitar Tabs Universe and its owner faced legal action from these organizations citing infringement on copyright. It happened and was quite a shock to the owner. sharing with other people how to learn how to play songs or guitar via the internet is against the ethics of these organizations.

However, in Blach's farewell letter it was focused on. Guitar Tabs Universe was created to help people learn to play the guitar by having them share their experiences. It was not regarding stealing songs belonging to other people, abusing others' rights was not the focus it merely meant using a variety of music and their guitar tabs, showing others how they too can learn how to play.

If you were to believe that guitar tabs were somehow an infringement, then you might as well say that millions of people across the world are committing the same crime. Think about all of the people who have sat and listened to their favorite songs, learning how to play by ear. Think of the millions of people who have helped their friends learn songs, and then for that matter, all of the cover bands and just starting out bands that play the songs written by others.

So, if you were looking for the late great Guitar Tabs Universe, like many others, this is the reason why it's not available anymore. Therefore, the concept continues on as seen in the numerous guitar tab websites on the internet.
