7-STEPS TO STOP DRINKING

Well this day you have decided to stop drinking. It is a common happening. We do want something, but are not really sure how to go about it. Stop drinking decision is no exception to it. How to stop drinking? Do not listen to your own thoughts over again once you have made up your mind to stop drinking. Be as stubborn as a rock that you are going to quit alcohol. Never look back. Throw every bottle in the garbage; full, half full, and quarter full, throw everything to the bins. Empty your home bar to the sink.
Relapse; well you may be sensitized by the glamour of the bottle in the commercials, your friends partying around, and you may be tempted to go back again. It is a common happening. Many people fall back at least twice or thrice in relapse in their attempt to quit drinking. Be strong willed. Be clear that you are going to quit and don't get back from that idea! Imagine if you go on like this your parents will very soon run short of funds for their medical insurance, your wife will have to work part-time or full-time to make ends meet; your children may have to leave their private school education.
You may be sacked for nonperformance by your employer. You may develop a low self-esteem. The credit bureau may be behind you. You may loose all your valid social proof to get a personal loan, car loan, home loan. Can you imagine living without money or without a source of income, hungry stomach! Gosh! You better don't be tempted.
Create your own tricks and plans to stop drinking. Work out a simple plan, compensate the time you have been drinking with some hobbies, help your wife out in the kitchen during those hours. Do some basic mechanic jobs in your household or in your office, organize your book shelf. Help your kids with their lessons. Go research for the right hobby that suits you. There are many heavenly and easy activities in the world other than spending your time drinking. You will realize what you have wasted in life and you would have become productive. Go crazy about researching on how to make a billion dollars in 120 days. See there are many things to do rather than killing yourself.
Get together with a group of friends who sail in the same boat as you. Who wish to stop smoking. Discuss on how to stop drinking as a Team. TEAM- Together Everyone Achieves More! Oops! Together Everyone Drink Less-TEAL. Group projects work miracles. So work as a TEAL! Alcoholic Anonymous is an example of a TEAL.
Focus on a goal and keep with it. Frustration can occur when set backs are encountered. Take courage and know that strength come from getting backup on ones feet. Keeping a positive outlook and a strong determination is a true goal. Pull strength from that fact that not only is this change good for you, but for all those who love you. Seeking a specialist can be a great boost if you find your dropping off the wagon.
Avoid friends who make fun over your idea of quitting alcohol. Throw them away for a while until you are done with your goal. Create an environment of people who have succeeded in quitting alcohol. List out on a clearly visible area the little accomplishments at home, at office, in health, in romance that you come across after stopping alcohol you will be encouraged by the way things have changed. This practice, your sentiments, your strong will, your doctor, your community together will help you recover soon.
