Of course, some of the more elaborate costumes can become somewhat expensive, but can often be rented as well.

If you're working with a smaller Halloween budget, you can go with this simple and cheap, yet popular costume idea for children - witches or vampires! The main requirements here are simply black clothes and a cape, with a witch hat for the witches and fangs for the vampires (both of these are inexpensive accessories) and a little makeup.
