Nobody can have failed to notice the incredible rise in the price of gas in recent months. This has come after years of slowly increasing prices and we are now at a point where everybody is feeling the pinch. The rise may mean you are driving a bit less or perhaps it means you have cut back on your spending. Few people are able to just ignore it.
Is there anything that we can do about this? That is the question everybody wants answered so I will try to answer that here. We cannot change the price of oil. Maybe the politicians can do something but for now we are on our own. There are ways to use less gas in the way we drive and the type of vehicles we drive or we can make our own cars and trucks run further on what gas we have.
Stop using your car! It may sound a bit dramatic but it is the best way to save gas, if it is a little inconvenient. So we must accept that for most of us that is not possible but we can use our cars less often. By combining several shopping trips into one you will save a lot on gas and if you were to take turns driving, going shopping with your neighbors you could save a lot of gas that way too.
We can drive in a way that uses less gas. Not many people are aware of this but hard acceleration and braking wastes gas. If you plan ahead and slow gently you will save gas. Accelerate gently and smoothly and you will use a lot less gas than you would with a heavy boot on the throttle. The secret is to think ahead and see what the traffic is doing in front of you so you do not need to reacte suddenly. This will save you gas.
Next we can run our cars in a more economical way. We could buy a smaller and more efficient car, we can get our car serviced which can sometimes make it run a lot better and use less gas or we can add certain gas saving devices to our vehicles which help to reduce the amount of gas we use.
A lot of gas saving devices have been promoted over the years and while some have made some improvement to gas consumption they generally have cost too much to make any savings worthwhile. Any testing that has been done was often carried out by sceptics who wanted to prove they didn't work. The car industry and oil industry both wanted us to carry on buying what they offered and didn't realy care about helping us reduce gas consumption.
There may be some devices that made no sense back in the day when oil and gas was cheap but now gas is so expensive they may make a lot more sense. Just a saving of a mile or two per gallon would be a very valuable saving in gas costs for many people.
It seems to be years now that we have been told the future is with hydrogen gas. It still seems to be years away and even when it is fully developed it will take a long time to convert all the gas stations to hydrogen gas stations. There are a few hydrogen cars being tested now but it will be a time before they are common on our roads but there are people who have been working on using their own hydrogen systems to save gas on the cars we already have.
You may think you need to be a rocket scientist to develop a hydrogen generator for your car but it a simple process. So simple you can buy a guide online, buy all the parts locally and put the system together in just a weekend. It takes an hour or two tops to fit the system to your car and you have your hydrogen generator helping to reduce your gas usage.
