Leather footwear seems contrary to vegan principles, but leather goods mean that no part of an animal that has been killed is wasted. Since animals are being killed for food, leaving the inedible parts as garbage amounts to a huge waste. The materials that can be used, should be used. Your purchase of leather sandals would not add to the killing of animals, but would ensure that the most is made from animals that have been killed.
